Furthermore, also raw materials (sinter, coal, fluxes and ferro alloys) can be analyzed in the run-up to production, thus providing for a precise process control.

Fast slag and steel analysis, regardless if solidified or still molten, allow for fast and precise process chemistry control. Proper chemistry of the slag improves the steel making in manifold ways: it ensures proper removal of detrimental elements from the melt, and proper basicity of the slag prevents premature refractory wear and ensures optimum foaming.
